(ONE YEAR TERM POSITION)
The Assistant Manager William Support Services oversees the team of Direct Support Professionals for the Programs and Supports provided out of the William location along with William Manager of Support Services. They are responsible for supporting all activities and goals identified in individuals’ support plans in a manner consistent with ImagineAbility’s Vision, Mission Purpose and Values as well as the philosophy and policies set out by **ALIDA**-Adults Living with an Intellectual Disability (formerly the VPA - Vulnerable Persons Act) and **CLdS** (Community Living disability Services). They will ensure high quality service delivery. This role is responsible for adhering to all policies and procedures of the agency as well as encouraging adherence of said policies and procedures amongst co-workers. This position, at all times, will respect and maintain confidentiality of all issues involving people supported, co-workers and ImagineAbility. This position is responsible for the daily support to **DSPs** (Direct Support Professionals) and the support, growth and development of adults living with a disability and assist the William Support Services Manager.

**Experience/Education/Conditional Requirements**
- Community college diploma in social services and/or relevant experience is an asset
- Experience related to human support services, social services and in the training and employment of individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset
- Training required for ALIDA (will be provided)
- Must be able to complete NCI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (will be provided)
- Must be able to complete Orientation to Protection Training of Adults Living with an Intellectual disability from Abuse and Neglect.
- Must be able to complete First Aid/CPR course
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to travel on Agency business
- Must possess a current valid Driver’s License
- Clear Criminal, Adult and Children Abuse checks required

**Job duties/ tasks**

**Program Management, Leadership, and Advocacy**
- Participate in Support Intensity Scale & Individualized People Plan sessions for people supported when required and utilize the information from the plans to assist DSPs in helping develop individualized strategies for the person supported to achieve success.
- Work with people supported, Community Social Workers (CSWs), DSPs, families and support networks to provide meaningful supports to people out of William location based on relationships and person-centered plans.
- Work with Manager of Support Services (William Avenue) regarding scheduling DSPs based on relationships with people we support and available shifts in the community at and out of the 436 William Avenue location.
- Ensure ongoing, clear open communication with CLdS, CSWs, fellow agencies, family members and stakeholders for all people supported.
- Promotes the concept of inclusion and full community participation.
- Oversees medication administration for people supported and does Medication counts for narcotics (PNRs) and provides training to DSPs responsible for medication administration.
- Interact with people supported to gain an understanding of their interests, goals and capabilities to provide guidance for DSPs to help ensure optimal support
- Advocate and support transitioning of people supported, based on safety or desire, to other programs within or external to ImagineAbility
- Network with other similar agencies and share knowledge to further enhance the support and to remain current with relevant issues in the field
- Acts as a role model for DSPs to promote personal choices for people supported.
- Manage crisis situations with people supported and support DSPs with any issues.
- Report any act of abuse (physical, emotional, sexual financial or neglect) must be reported. This is consistent with the **ALIDA**. Failure to do so is considered neglect and will not be tolerated/allowed..
- Work with and support DSPs regarding scheduling of personal time, vacation, leaves etc.
