**LOGISTICS SPECIALIST (12 Months Fixed Term Contract)**

Lead the analysis for the Cote Mine Supply Chain Team as it relates to how goods are acquired, stored and transported from point of origin to destination. The role includes reviewing new opportunities to:

- Increase goods distribution cost savings for the Cote Mine operations
- Store and transport goods to increase delivery quality, goods longevity and availability
- Utilize systems and procedures that optimize the handling of goods
- Be proactive and improve response time for planned and unplanned goods operational requirements

**Key Responsibilities**

**Area 1**:
**Operational Responsibilities & Duties**
- Communicate with the Superintendent - Supply Chain on issues pertinent to logistics management and impacts to goods and services under contract.
- Providing input into the development and implementation of the strategic stocking issues at Cote Mine.
- Drive the utilization of statistical tools and root cause analysis to develop and implement recommendations that drive continuous improvement in logistics and customer service performance metrics.
- Develop improved processes and tools as necessary that incorporate logistics management best-practices.
- Monitor and identify potential for zero stock outs of critical production and maintenance spares, consumables, reagents and all A & B Class items. Assist the Inventory Analyst with logistics requirements and enable smooth transitions and adaptability.
- Plan and track shipment of products according to operational requirements.
- Maintain effective communication with key logistics service providers and provide key performance indicators analysis of current as well as alternative service providers.
- Development of a reporting routine for inbound and outbound products, equipment and/or materials to be used by Supply Chain and other Cote Mine Resources.

**Area 2**:
**Administrative Duties**
- Guide, train and provide direction to Supply Chain team members on issues related to Logistics management
- Create and manage functional training and development programs to ensure logistics management process continuity

Qualifications

**Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves**

**minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents**
- Post-Secondary Education in Business / Supply Chain Services.

**Work experience - Nature & Length**
- Minimum 5 years of directly related experience in analyzing / supporting logistics functions within a Supply Chain Team
- Previous experience with Oracle ERP system, logistics systems is an asset

**Additional qualifications - Competency requirements**
- High functional knowledge about planning data, ERP tools (Oracle preferred), and processes related to Supply Chain Planning.
- Understanding of local and international shipping methodologies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills (written and verbal)
