**About Western**:
**About Us**:
Within the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, this research group’s focus is on conducting health economics and health equity research to evaluate the value of health technologies, understand social determinants of health and identify health inequities. In particular, research will be conducted to develop cost-effectiveness models, elicit public preferences for equity-efficiency trade-offs, identify real-world challenges of equity-based decision-making and develop health services performance indicators using patient-level linked administrative data and population surveys.

- Education:
- Master’s Degree in a Science related discipline
- Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in supporting research or clinical activity in an academic or clinical setting
- Experience coordinating multiple research projects related to economic evaluation, social determinants of health and health equity
- Experience of conducting analyses of population surveys and developing economic models
- Experience preparing peer-reviewed publications
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of reference management software, of population health surveys and linked health data would be an asset
- Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research
- Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research in an academic environment and with best practices for reviewing and writing grant proposals
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams which may include faculty, knowledge users, staff, and students
- Excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational and planning skills
- Ability to collaborate across internal and external boundaries to meet common objectives, improve outcomes and support work beyond one's own research group
- Communication skills with an ability to complete detailed analytics and reports
- Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
- Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within tightly prescribed timelines
- Ability to effectively communicate both general and scientific information, in writing and verbally at all levels
- Ability to work independently and make decisions using good judgement, initiative, tact and a professional attitude in the workplace
- Adaptable, flexible and resourceful, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems
