Reporting to Director - Consumer Products, the Merchandise Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing merchandise to alignwith Cirque du Soleil’s strategic growth goals. This position will ensure product development and operational strategies are fully implemented to maximize revenues and net profitability. This role will be part of the Consumer Products team dedicated to meeting divisional goals, company sales targets, and developing products reflecting Cirque du Soleil and individual show’s brand stories.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Identify and analyze market demands, consumer trends, and historical/current sales data to make informed buying decisions
- Collaborate with the merchandise team to curate a compelling and profitable product mix aligning with the company’s sales objectives and target audience.
- Conduct negotiations with lead suppliers to ensure advantageous pricing, discounts, and delivery timelines while maintaining product quality.
- Maintain and establish relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
- Conduct regular vendor evaluations and actively seek new supplier opportunities.
- Works closelywith finance team to manage open-to-buy budgets
- Closely monitor merchandise sales against budgets and adjustpurchasingstrategies as needed.
- Work in partnership with Planning Team to closely monitor and control inventorylevels to avoidoverstock or stockoutswhileanticipatingnextmarketneeds/demands.
- Utilize data analytics to interpretsales reports, inventory, and product performance to makeinformedbuyingdecisions.
- Identify areas of continuousimprovement and makerecommendations on product exit strategies.
- Collaborate with Director to set competitive retail pricing, meeting fan expectations andmaintaining healthy profit margins.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatoryrequirements of products.
- Work closelywith internal team and external partners to plan, align, and executepromotional and marketing campaigns.

**You possess the following professional and technical skills**:

- Bachelor’sdegree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or on the job/work equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5-7yearsbuyingexperiencein traditional and/or non-traditional retail outlets, preferably in the entertainment industry
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and market trends.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamicenvironment and adapt to changingmarket conditions
- Time management skills and ability to prioritizetaskseffectively
- Strong attention to detail and robustorganizationalskills
- Ability to workcooperatively and shareideas.
- Ability to collaborateeffectivelyacross disciplines and cultures.
- Knowledge of all MS Office and Adobe Productsis an asset
