**OVERVIEW**

As the responsibilities of this position coincide with curling and event schedules, the Events Coordinator must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**LOUNGE MANAGEMENT**
- Recruitment, scheduling, and supervision of part-time seasonal staff responsible for liquor service during curling leagues, bonspiels, and other special events.
- Procure liquor inventory and supplies, assuring the mix of available products is reflective of demand while maintaining appropriate profit margins.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Ensure overall positive experience for all customers, focusing on excellent customer service, diverse product availability, and entertaining atmosphere.
- Responsible for setup and take down of furniture and fixtures required during rental and other special events.
- Ensure cleanliness of the lounge is well maintained.

**PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES**
- Pursue and obtain sponsorships to assist with funding and promoting the SACC within the community. Evaluate and make improvements to the sponsorship program that consider changes in the sponsorship/advertising landscape.
- Promote special event rentals including community events, weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc. Responsible for event bookings, contract management, liaison with catering services, and post-event evaluations.
- Identify and provide recommendations to the General Manager and SACC Board additional fundraising/revenue generating opportunities and/or challenges and obstacles in securing such events.
- Participate in outside activities as deemed appropriate and approved by the General Manager to enhance the image and prestige of the club.
- Promote the enjoyment of the SACC to members, prospective members and visitors, ensuring the facility is presented in a positive manner.

**WEBSITE/SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE**
- First point of contact with current website developer, working closely with the IT committee.
- Regularly review and update website to ensure information is current and relevant and reflects SACC’s brand.
- Ensure strong social media presence, promoting SACC, the sport of curling, community events, etc.

**SUPPORT TO GENERAL MANAGER**
- Provide backup support to the General Manager as required.
- Keep the General Manager informed on successes, progress, and challenges in areas of responsibility for subsequent reporting to the SACC Board.
- Attend SACC Board meetings and committee meetings, as requested.
- Contribute to the development of the club’s long range and annual business, including providing input to budgets and forecasts that support sound decision making.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**

**Experience**
Valid Pro-Serve certification required
Experience supervising part-time seasonal staff considered an asset
Experience in a customer service or hospitality environment considered an asset
Experience in marketing, communications, or sales considered an asset
Experience in event planning considered an asset

**Knowledge**
Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms considered an asset
Knowledge of curling club operations considered an asset
Knowledge of the game of curling considered an asset

**Skills & Abililties**
Excellent people skills - possessing a positive, friendly attitude
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills
Strong problem solving skills to react quickly and decisively to resolve issues
Self motivated with the ability to work effectively alone as well as within a team environment
Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets, database maintenance, web design, etc

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
