**OVERVIEW**

The Director of Surveillance is responsible for the successful direction of all activities of the Surveillance Department, to ensure the protection of company assets and the integrity of gaming for Parq Vancouver Casino. The Director of Surveillance is responsible for the investigation, reporting and documentation of all possible loss prevention incidents that occur on the property.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Creates, develops and implements an effective plan of departmental policies and procedures, maintaining consistency with established company guidelines and controls.
- Ensures the quality of operations in the Surveillance Department through proper training and management.
- Maintains working knowledge of all laws, rules, regulations and directives of GPEB and BCLC and ensures strict adherence to the same throughout the property.
- Protects company assets and gaming integrity, through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on the property, particularly the gaming floor.
- Directs the flow of Surveillance reports to the proper individuals within the company, always maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Communicates with all department heads, to ensure problems are effectively and promptly resolved.
- Establish reporting system for Surveillance related matters and informs casino management, as well as outside agencies, when cheating, theft, embezzlement or suspicious activities take place on property.
- Coordinates, with the Security Department, when Surveillance discovers a matter that needs further investigation or attention.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Criminal Justice, or other related fields is an asset.
- Minimum of 10 years demonstrated work experience in Senior Casino Surveillance
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management position
- Expert knowledge of investigation techniques and incident report writing
- Expert knowledge of cheating/advantage play in the gaming industry.
- Detailed knowledge of, and experience using, surveillance equipment
- Must be able to be registered by GPEB if not currently registered.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data, casino policies, and promotions.
- Management abilities demonstrated in managing variety of department operations.
- Must have polished presentation, facilitations, and management instincts.
- Ability to maintain interpersonal working relationships among all Associates.
- Proven ability to train and supervise.
- Must be able to work with others, communicate well, give direction, review the work of others, and provide guidance and counsel when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
- Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.

**CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to obtain a Senior Level GAMW
- Serving it Right Certification
- Ability to complete all BCLC online training.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Required to sit, stand and walk during working hours
- Required to sit for extended periods of time in a darkly lit room with several monitors and computers
- Must be able to work in an environment with no natural light
