Air Import Manager

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Reporting to the Director, Operations - Montreal, the Air Import Manager has the following responsibilities.
- Responsible for the planning, supervision, and control of all Airfreight Import operations of the Montreal station.
- Manage all air import freight operations including policies, procedures, objectives, and performance.
- Responsible for the attainment of corporate objectives and Air Import department’s budget.
- Responsible to continuously improve the financial performance of the Air Import department.
- Responsible for enforcing corporate policies and insuring compliance with established corporate procedures, including required standards and credit policies, among all personnel of the Air Import department.
- Responsible for resolving in a diligent and business efficient manner customer complaints and implement measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence.
- Responsible to resolve internal and operational problems on a diligent and business efficient manner to prevent service deficiencies and/or customer dissatisfaction.
- Improve on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures to favor customer service and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for promoting OEC’s corporate culture and customer service philosophy among all personnel under the individual’s responsibility.
- Responsible for the management and performance of all employees of the Air Import department, including maintaining a proper working discipline that favors employee’s productivity and morale.
- Provide adequate and continuous training to all personnel of the Air Import department to ensure a high level of performance and consistent quality of work.
- Contribute to maintain a business environment in accordance with OEC’s corporate objective of best management practices.
- Regularly meet with Ground Handling Agents and enforce OEC policies and standards.
- Regularly meet with Airlines to build relationships.
- Assist management in developing sales programs that will favor the development and growth of the airfreight business.
- Engage in regular prospecting efforts to develop and grow the air freight business.
- Ensure that margins on airfreight sales are in line or above minimum corporate standards and take advantage of market opportunities, when applicable.
- Engage in regular entertainment and promotional activities with existing and prospective clients within corporate policies regulations.
- Regularly ensure that service provided to accounts meet customer needs and expectations.
- Perform regular business intelligence activities in the market and inform the Company on market conditions, trends, and competitor’s activities.
- Actively and consistently promote all products and services of the Company.
- Improve sales program, products, and services on an ongoing basis by following closely client’s evolving needs and market trends.
- Perform continuous promotional efforts to increase Company’s market share and promote Company’s visibility in the market.

**ExperIence**
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain and logistics management.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Air Import operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role.

**Communication Skills**
- Express ideas effectively in individual and group situations.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and courteously and maintain harmonious relationships with clients, business partners, working colleagues, his/her superiors, and senior management.
- Develop effective methods of sharing information with others.
- Use computer tools to enhance communications.

**MANAGEMENT SKILLS**
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner.
- Maintain an organized and time efficient daily agenda.
- Prepare timely management reports in a professional format.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and planning skills.
- Demonstrate strong aptitude in decision making and problem solving.
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and positive team attitude.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanor.

**PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE**
- Understand how the company relates to other organizations, customer groups, industry groups and government bodies.
- Understand how goals, statements and business objectives applies to quality tools and work process.
- Keep current with industry trends, changes, and regulations.
- Maintain all data and information on the Company’s computer system.
- Be open to follow professional training to improve professional skills, when needed.
- Maintain all data and information on the Company’s computer system.Coach other staff members and learn from other staff members.
- Know the Company’s database system.
