**The Opportunity**

The Project Controls Manager will be responsible for managing costs, schedules, and contracts on behalf of our client's various capital projects. This position is for long-term, full-time or contract employment in Toronto Ontario, with the expectation of following a hybrid schedule.

**Responsibilities**

**Cost & Schedule**
- Prepare estimates and schedules to support projects and operational programs;
- Support the program team by generating Cost Breakdown Structures;
- Analyze, prepare, validate, and maintain cost estimates, budgets, and schedules;
- Review project expenses, client invoices, and related accounting transactions;
- Manage monthly lifecycle forecasting activities and identify risks and exposure;
- Analyze relationships between planned work, executed work, and actual costs using earned value management techniques;
- Update schedule status, track variances and recommend corrective actions;
- Ensure tasks are properly planned and executed;
- Analyze and maintain schedule logic, manage what-if scenarios, and review critical-path;
- Ensure that goods and services are delivered as expected and in accordance with the schedule;

**Reporting**
- Develop and implement project monthly cost and earned value status reports;
- Develop and maintain reporting schedules for communication to senior management;
- Prepare and present to management the monthly project financial summaries;
- Make recommendations for reporting improvements to enhance efficiency, readability, quality, and/or content of monthly reports.

**General**
- Develop and implement project control systems and tools;
- Liaise between members of the Project Team, Client Team, and Contracting Team;
- Firm understanding of Contract Administration;
- Administer change control to schedule and budgets;
- Integrate risks and opportunities with the schedule and budget;
- Create and review documentation required for project approvals, especially screening estimates and schedules;
- Support the creation and enhancement of project controls processes and procedures;
- Lead teams of internal and client-employed Project Controls professionals;
- Develop and deliver training to junior Project Controls staff;
- Support the creation and successful delivery of proposals for new Project Controls work.

**Education/Qualifications**
- College/university graduate or equivalent combination of technical skills and experience
- Minimum 8 years of project experience with an engineering, consulting, or professional services company
- Minimum 6 years of experience in project controls
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be willing to travel to client sites as required.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
- Must have experience with Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
