**Job Summary**
The Site Liaison serves as the main contact between the children's program and external partners, coordinating activities, building relationships, and ensuring program goals are met. They facilitate communication between staff and partners, report on site activities, and play a crucial role in program implementation and communication with stakeholders. Additionally, they ensure a safe and organized environment for children, requiring strong leadership, organizational skills, and a dedication to working with children.
**Responsibilities Include**
- Program Planning and Facilitation
- Develop and implement a diverse range of age-appropriate activities, including games, crafts, and sports, to enrich the camp experience.
- Create well-structured daily and weekly schedules, balancing recreational, educational, and social activities in alignment with program objectives.
- Facilitate program activities.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of program activities, making necessary adjustments to enhance Childrens' engagement and program outcomes.
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Assist the Program Coordinator in recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring Youth Facilitators, volunteers, and practicum students. Provide ongoing guidance and support to staff to ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Safety and Risk Management:
- Ensure a safe and secure environment for all participants and staff.
- Enforce camp policies and procedures, including emergency protocols and behavior guidelines.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of facilities, equipment, and activity areas.
- Train staff on safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Parent and Community Relations:
- Maintain regular communication with parents, providing updates on camp activities, schedules, and any relevant information.
- Address parent inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- In collaborate with the Family Liaison, organize parent meetings, open houses, and other camp-related events.
- Collaborate with local community organizations and partners to enhance the camp experience.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Assist registration, attendance records, and other administrative duties.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping of medical information, consent forms, and emergency contacts.
- Prepare reports on camp operations, attendance, and program evaluation.
- Ensure the upkeep of program materials and procurement as necessary.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in education, recreation management, child development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 1 year of prior experience in after-school program administration, summer camp coordination, program coordination, or similar roles.
- Experience and knowledge working with diverse children and youth.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Reliable means of transportation to travel program sites.
- Experience and skills in managing children's behavior effectively.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Passion for working with children and creating positive experiences.
**Working conditions**
- Program sites encompass partner schools, community venues, and field trip destinations, both indoors and outdoors.
- Transporting program materials to these sites is necessary.
- Engagement in physical activities, including outdoor endeavors, is part of the job requirement.
- Occasional weekend and evening availability required.
