SUMMARY

The Buyer leads JBS forward in securing quality materials and components while ensuring that price, delivery, and quality targets are being met. Additionally, ensures that existing inventory is posted to customer orders.

MAIN DUTIES:

- Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with emphasis on the purchase of materials and finished parts for production
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price
- Connect with production to make sure that all materials are available for them according to their timelines
- Work with Shipping and Receiving to make sure that all purchased stock is received and staged in a timely manner
- Assist Senior Purchasers with ad-hoc projects
- Material costs - stringent material control is required to assure company targets are met. This includes spend, usage, scrap, inventory levels, etc.
- Expedites purchases when necessary to meet various production demands such as rush orders, material requests and scheduling adjustments
- Process data for vendor managed inventory on site
- Follow systems and procedures that are outlined in the company’s manual
- Work with supervisor to effectively resolve inventory or order discrepancies that are outside of his/her control

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication (ability to interface with personnel, outside customers and different functional groups within the business units)
- Excellent computer experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Experience with ERP software (QuickBooks preferred)
- Fluent in English, speaking and writing
- Very good organizational and planning skills
- Able to work under pressure with mínimal supervision
- Other important skills are, attention to detail, commercial awareness, technical knowledge, and the ability to work to deadlines
- Strong team spirit

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- The role will primarily require sitting for long periods of time in an office environment
- The role will require occasional walking around the facility to verify inventory levels and review receiving discrepancies when needed
- Proper personal protective equipment is required when on the production floor, assembly floor, parts room or other areas that state PPE is required to be worn; such as, steel toes, hearing protection, and safety glasses

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
