**Infectious Diseases Specialist**

**Part Time 0.50 FTE**

**BC Children’s Hospital**

Reporting to the Division Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases, the responsibilities of this locum position include direct patient care (inpatient and outpatient), day to day management of patients as expected of a physician, including performing procedures, writing physician orders, attending rounds and team meetings and documenting a patient’s care, teaching and clinical and/or laboratory research when appropriate. Along with general pediatric infectious diseases, this position includes providing longitudinal care for solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients, with routine pre-transplant assessments and post-transplant outpatient consults and on-going follow up as required.

You possess excellent clinical skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with families in the care of children. You are committed to best practice and advancing knowledge in your field of practice. Additionally, you demonstrate excellence in and commitment to teaching across the spectrum of learners. Strong inter-professional skills in working in complex environments and commitment to a clinical academic sub-specialty environment will ensure your success in this role. You have previous experience with infection prevention and management in children with immune compromise, including solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients.
