Industrial Waste Field Supervisor/truck Foreman

Tomlinson is Eastern Canada’s leader in environmental, construction and transportation infrastructure services. Tomlinson Environmental Services is seeking to hire a Field Supervisor for its Power Road facility. This is a full-time permanent and year-round position. This position would be working from Monday to Friday, from 7am to 5pm. **(Hours have potential to start earlier and run later when required as well as occasional after hours and weekend work. It also includes on-call rotations for emergencies).**

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct safety inspections on job sites ensuring compliance with workplace safety programs and enforce when necessary
- Assist in accident/incident investigations
- Establish and maintain a safety-culture within the workforce including enforcing safety infractions/violations
- Communicate all safety information to all employees monthly and at tail gate sessions
- Conduct job site assessments and evaluations for planning, scheduling and resources
- Lead weekly Operations meetings
- Oversee jobs and projects as required and directed
- Prepare and submit post-job assessments to Management team
- Deal with Customers onsite to ensure full understanding of tasks being done and conduct follow-ups
- Prepare any safety-related documents
- Ensure that we are meeting the highest possible Customer satisfaction standards
- Ensure Employees are completing assigned tasks according to Transportation ECA and environmental regulatory requirement
- Coordinate onsite and offsite activities with Dispatch
- Back up coverage for Dispatch
- Ensure adequate work coordination and communication with all departments
- Ensure Employees are fully trained on vehicles/equipment
- Conduct refresher training for Employees
- Providing feedback through one-on-one coaching sessions
- Prepare and deliver annual reviews
- Prepare and deliver Disciplinary Actions as required
- Other related duties as required and directed by Management

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ability to supervise a group of Employees, providing detailed instructions and supervising quality of work
- Ability to be on-call after-hours to include weekends & Holidays
- Experience in Customer Service
- Experience in supervising Employees including performance management, scheduling and mentoring
- Demonstrate strong safety knowledge
- Must be prepared to work flexible hours, responding to any after-hour calls and weekends (when required)
- Safety training and knowledge in various job tasks (Confined Space/Working at Heights/etc.)
- Basic awareness of Ontario Regulation 347 and sites ECAs
- Sound knowledge of TDG
- HAZWOPER or NFPA-472 qualification would be an asset
- Ability to resolve conflicts between Employees
- Problem-solving
- A minimum of 10 years of Industrial Waste experience
