**Baptist Housing **is seeking a Chaplain to serve our Shannon Oaks all-inclusive independent living community and Clarendon Court, which is our assisted living community. Both are located in beautiful South Vancouver.

**About You**

You embody the essence of compassion, providing unwavering pastoral care that transcends religious boundaries. With a heart dedicated to lovingly serving, you’ll be a beacon of support for our residents, team members, and their families. Your sensitivity to diverse religious and cultural backgrounds is top of mind, ensuring that everyone receives the nurturing care they deserve. You’ll have the ability to orchestrate and enhance our chaplaincy services, including the coordination of spiritual care volunteers, while also providing proficiency as a comforting "presence" in times of need. A profound understanding of geriatrics, the aging process, and grief is coupled with your commitment to integrating spiritual well-being into the holistic model of senior wellness. Your ability to communicate faith matters transparently from a Biblical standpoint while also respecting diverse beliefs forms a crucial part of your skillset. Your educational foundation includes a graduate degree in theology aligned with our Baptist Housing Statement of Faith, including clinical pastoral education or professional chaplaincy training. Your unique blend of qualities includes a profound sense of humour, innate adaptability, and an unceasing commitment to lifelong learning. As our chaplain, you will not only offer spiritual sustenance but also foster an environment of warmth and inclusivity that defines who you are.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Multifaceted role covering various aspects of spiritual care for residents, families, and the team.
- Lead recruitment, training, and supervision of spiritual care volunteers with the support of the volunteer coordinator.
- Foster a supportive environment for spiritual care volunteers.
- Facilitate the ministry of fellow clergy and help residents maintain their faith community.
- Plan and lead Christian worship, teachings, and fellowship sessions for connection and addressing diverse needs.
- Provide guidance during ethical concerns and end-of-life situations.
- Offer hospital visitation and oversee funeral and memorial service arrangements.
- Support individuals navigating grief and spiritual matters.
- Create an inclusive atmosphere for the team's personal faith and beliefs.
- Promote spiritual care and understanding through education and emotional support.
- Coordinate spiritual care volunteers, maintain resource knowledge, and network for comprehensive care.
- Handle reporting, document care services, collaborate on strategy and budgets.
- Ensure accurate recording of volunteer hours.
- Advocate for safe practices, identify workplace hazards, and contribute to a secure environment.
- Model Baptist Housing values in interactions with residents, the team, and families.
