We’re looking for a Subrogation Law Clerk to join our growing team

As a Law Clerk - Subrogation, you will play an integral role in the Legal Claims Department, working closely with the Subrogation Team.

**What you’ll do here**:

- Draft Statements of Claim, Motion Records (including Affidavits) and Affidavits of Documents
- Draft Plaintiff’s Claims, Notices of Motion (including Affidavits), Affidavits of Service, Certificates of Judgment for Small Claims Court
- Prepare Damage Briefs, including compiling supporting documents and reconciliation of supporting documents
- Prepare witness lists, requests to attend Settlement Conferences by telephone, and Document Briefs in preparation for Settlement Conferences
- Assist with trial preparation
- Draft Certificates of Judgment and other enforcement documents
- Assist with Freedom of Information Requests, Licence Plate Searches, Corporate Searches, Title Searches and other claim related searches
- Update clients on status of files

**What you bring to the table**:

- College Diploma in a legal program (Paralegal, Law Clerk, Legal Office Administration)
- Experience with legal matters dealing with subrogation claims as a Subrogation Law Clerk
- Excellent attention to detail, proofreading, and drafting skills
- A solid knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Smalls Claims Court.
- Familiarity with Word and Excel and an interest in learning new computer programs
- Strong document management skills with the ability to learn and utilize Intact’s various software programs, including iManage, Citrix, ACL, Kofax and the Microsoft Office package of programs
- Ability to prioritize, organize and execute your tasks in a quality manner with a fast turnaround
- A desire to be a part of our #oneteam philosophy, supporting our insureds, adjusters, claims representatives, law clerks, legal assistants and lawyers, with a view to customer satisfaction and business continuity.
- Excellent attention to detail and sound proofreading, and drafting skills, ability to prioritize and organize.
- Excellent communication, listening, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and take initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in dealing effectively with clients, counsel, insureds and court officials.
- Demonstrate a disciplined approach to work.

This exciting in-house role is part of our Hybrid World with a current minimum of 2 days in our Toronto office at 700 University Avenue.
