Hevvy/Toyo Pumps North America is a Canadian owned pump manufacturing and distribution company located on the Fraser River in Coquitlam, BC. We are a family owned and operated business that has been operating for over 40 years. We are looking to hire a Purchaser to our growing team. The Purchaser is a key position within our company as they will work closely with operations, suppliers, and internal employees to ensure that materials and supplies are processed, received on time, in the most cost effective manner.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare computerized purchase orders and confirmations
- Identification of vendor quality and subsequent action if company standards are not met
- Maintaining promised delivery schedules (expediting)
- Monitor new supplier additions - on time delivery, quality, pricing
- Corrective action to incorrectly supplied components
- Assist A/P in the correction of invoice discrepancies
- Basic quoting
- Foster positive relationships with vendors/suppliers
- Perform duties to ISO processes and regulations
- Coordinate shipping requirement with vendors.
- Assist in purchasing miscellaneous items for production and warehouse.
- Collaborate with sales, production and warehouse for any delays.
- Set up of new suppliers in Syteline ERP system
- Supporting and assisting the Purchasing Manager in other tasks as require
- 2+ years’ experience working as a purchaser or buyer in a medium sized company
- 2+ years’ experience working with an ERP system
- Experience with MS office programs
- Basic knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent math skills
- Interest in growing knowledge within mechanical manufacturing

**Assets**:

- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- Schooling within supply chain, CPIM or other purchasing courses

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
