- Full Time**Position Overview**:
Join Calian’s dynamic Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team as an M&A Analyst, where you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the company’s growth strategy.

As a key member, you’ll dive into understanding diverse Business Units’ strategies, conduct market research, and deliver comprehensive recommendations for potential mergers and acquisitions to the executive team.

You’ll actively engage in due diligence, financial modeling, transaction execution, and contribute to the creation of integration plans for sustained success.

This role offers a unique opportunity to impact Calian’s expansion while gaining valuable experience in the intricacies of M&A within a collaborative and innovative environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Formulate and analyze financial reports based on information obtained, and prepares various scenarios to help establish potential deals
- Prepare customized presentations for business executive teams
- Assist the leadership team in preparing an offer, including offer documentation (i.e. IOI, LOI)
- Conducts research and gathers qualifying information
- Identify the potential risks and impacts a deal may have on the organization with corresponding solutions
- Meets with the leadership team and advisors to determine business requirements and potential opportunities
- Collaborates with senior management on all prospecting activities
- Plays a strategic role to help position the business with potential targets
- Perform due diligence tasks across functional areas as needed
- Provide support on integration activities as required

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- 2-5 years’ experience in in a financial or accounting role at the transactional level
- Experience participating in M&A
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing statistical, operational, and financial data
- Ability to think at both detail and summary levels
- An eye for detail in drafting agreements and conducting due diligence
- Ability to think proactively, critically and independently to make good decisions

**Additional Requirements**:

- A clear sense of urgency to achieve results. A “can-do”, “let’s make it happen” attitude and a focus on a positive customer experience
- Keen sense of time management and flexibility
- Possession or the ability to obtain a Canadian Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
