Options Community Services is seeking motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as
Community Service Workers for the the Canada Summer Jobs 2024 program. This is a temporary full-time
position dependent on funding.

As a Community Service Worker, you will play a vital role in providing needs and asset assessments, referrals,
information, orientation, and facilitating community connection group activities. This position involves working
in a diverse and inclusive environment, catering to individuals who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Punjabi, Hindi,
Somali, Arabic, Kurdish, Tagalog, and English.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Providing support to newcomers to access employment services in the community.
- Conducting needs and asset assessments through one-on-one interactions and group settings.
- Organizing community events to support vulnerable youth access community programs and education
- programs.- Organizing education and careers fairs to connect newcomers with Education service providers.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential client records and documentation.
- Assisting managers in planning and executing branding and marketing activities in order to promote

needs and challenges faced by diverse communities. They should possess excellent communication skills in the
proactive problem-solver, capable of working both independently and collaboratively. A background in social
services or community development, coupled with a passion for community engagement, makes for an ideal fit
for this position.

This role will require the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector
Check by the Ministry of Justice. This position will be paid at an hourly rate of $16.75.

**Eligibility Requirement**:
To be eligible, youth must:

- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred
- under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in

Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
