The Lycée Français de Toronto is an educational institution from the very small section to the terminal (Pre K-Gr 12), offering a program from the French Ministry of Education up to the French Baccalaureate, with the American international option. It is part of a network of more than 500 French schools around the world, affiliated with the Agency for French Education Abroad. The Lycée Français de Toronto is recruiting his / her secondary school education assistant

The position is located at the Lycée Français de Toronto, 2327 Dufferin St in Toronto.

**The Secondary School Educator**

The Secondary School Educator is part of the school life team, under the hierarchical authority of the Guidance Counsellor.

The nature of the position's activities and missions brings the incumbent into contact with the school community as a whole. He or she must respect the operating rules of a French school, as well as Ontario regulations.

**Missions**
- Supervise students during recess, lunch, and daycare
- Intake and onboarding of students
- Ensure the well-being of the children.
- Enforce the current internal rules and regulations
- Communicate with families
- Monitoring of student absences and late arrivals
- Supervision and support of students when teachers are absent, during “permanence”, during ateliers and “devoirs faits”
- Participation in the educational follow-up of secondary school students (by cycle), participate in class councils
- Help and active participation in the cultural and social life of the school.
- Hosting camps during school vacations
- Organize projects and events as part of the school's educational project
- Participate in the development of students' psychosocial skills outside the classroom
- Supporting students with special educational needs in and out of the classroom in conjunction with the special education teacher and the homeroom teacher
- Help in organizing exams
- Support the Elementary School Educators with their responsibilities
- Support with study times and other extra-curricular activities
- Support the receptionist with frond desk duties
- Be in charge of particular educational missions in agreement with the staff (theater, web radio, philosophical dialogue, school support,...)

**Qualifications and requirements**
- Good grasp of oral and written French and English.
- Experience with adolescents and young children is preferred.
- Patience and pedagogy.
- Be comfortable with children and adolescents.
- Have a keen sense of responsibility.
- Have great flexibility.
- Having a creative sense is a plus.
- Have a team spirit.
- Have a definite interest in the world of education and pedagogy
- To be able to manage stressful situations and conflict management.
- Proficiency in the Google suite and Microsoft Office.
