**Background**:
The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre is currently searching for a Sacred Heart Connections Coordinator. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and will be part of the Leadership Team.

**Specific accountability**: The Sacred Connections Coordinator is responsible for providing peer support and encouragement to team Leads and coordinators. The Sacred Connections Coordinator will lead the development Indigenous-led wellness and healing opportunities for staff and community.

**KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Post-Secondary undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Arts with a focus on conflict resolution, health, fitness, nutrition, and/or Indigenous studies or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in traditional Indigenous and/or therapeutic support to people
- Experience in facilitating sharing/healing or focus groups.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous non-mandated organizations.
- Basic knowledge of Canadian health policies and regulations.
- Strong motivational and leadership ability.
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with staff, other agencies, and the public.
- Strong knowledge of Indigenous ways of knowing with an emphasis on spiritual/mental and physical well-being
- A team player/facilitator to encourage an environment that fosters effective results in teams.
- Respectful to engage people and build helping relationships.
- Flexible to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Must provide Current Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact Checks at time of interview.
