**Clinical Unit Care Aide**

The Clinical Unit Care Aide assists patients with activities of daily living such as personal care, comfort measures and assisting with nourishments, and tidies and stocks patient and general rooms, stocks clinical and medication cart supplies, moves and maintains patient equipment, and orders equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies, standards and procedures.
**What you’ll do**
- Assist patients with activities of daily living by performing duties such as providing personal care including assisting with toilet needs, providing comfort measures such as positioning and assisting with nourishments including serving and collecting meal trays and feeding patients.
- Collect used instruments and sending to central processing for sterilization.
- Restock linen supplies, and Central Venous Catheters (CVC) and medication cart supplies such as alcohol swabs, syringes and needles on both units.
- Deliver specimen to the laboratory, and picks up blood products from the blood bank fridge, medications from Pharmacy for delivery to the patient care area.
- Tidy patient rooms, unit rooms and hallways ensuring they are free of obstructions; cleans and stocks shelves and carts with patient supplies.
**What you bring**
- Grade 10 completion
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Deal with others effectively.
- Physically carry out the duties of the position.
- Organize own work.
- Operate related equipment.
You have:
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.)
