**The Opportunity**: The Maintenance Technician is an entry level position providing maintenance support as a member of a building operations team, reporting directly to the Operators Supervisor.

The primary objective of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure that the assigned building or complex of buildings is being managed and maintained in a safe and environmentally responsible manner and to the highest level of operational efficiency.

The Maintenance Technician provides premium customer service though daily contact with the occupants of the building complex, ensuring that designated maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner, always with a courteous and respectful approach to tenants, visitors and other staff.

**What you will do**:

- Primary duties are to provide comprehensive maintenance to residential suites and the base building systems that support the residential tower complex. Provide assistance to Building Operators in daily activities;
- Performing work in accordance to established processes and practices;
- Perform general maintenance duties with basic knowledge, or ability to acquire knowledge, within electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing systems, carpentry, drywall repairs, painting etc.;
- Perform other general housekeeping such as sweeping, shoveling snow from doorways and egress routes, backof-house garbage removal, moving/organizing supplies and pressure washing;
- Clean exterior public areas from litter and any debris ensuring building appearance, safety and convenience are upheld at all times;
- Monitor and maintain all tools and equipment ensuring they are in good working order;
- Perform general preventative maintenance on equipment and assist Building Operators with unscheduled repairs;
- Attend to demand maintenance and tenant requests, including minor repairs in tenant spaces;
- Assist with contractors, working under the direction of the Senior Building Operator and/or Operations Supervisor as required;
- Assist with environmental assessments and reporting;
- Participate in corporate occupational health and safety program;
- Assist with waste, recycling and hazardous materials issues;
- Active participation in preventative maintenance program implementation and operation;
- Participate in moving of supplies/equipment;
- Be an integral part of the building operations team;
- Assist in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed and services delivered;
- Provide backup to other members of the crew when the need arises;
- May be required to attend to afterhours emergency situations; requires the ability to exert moderate physical effort and must be able to move quickly in emergency situations; able to thrive within a busy working environment;
- Other duties as assigned from time to time based on needs, training, knowledge, and capabilities;
- Evening and weekend shifts will be required, as determined by Operations Management, as part of the regular work schedule.
