**Hours**:Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (40 hours/week)

The Winnipeg Humane Society (“WHS”) is offering a unique and rewarding opportunity for a qualified
Maintenance Technician. As a member of the Shelter Department, the Maintenance Technician

performs a variety of skilled activities ranging from repairs and maintenance, safety improvements,

trouble shooting and modifications of the Winnipeg Humane Society (“WHS”) building and grounds.

This position will be responsible for the upkeep of the Winnipeg Humane Society’s facility. The tasks will
vary daily but generally include the maintenance of equipment, building repairs and ensuring overall

aesthetics are well maintained.

This is a permanent full-time position.

**_What you’ll bring: _**

experience to help fellow co-workers reach departmental goals.
- 2+ years experience in building maintenance
- Your ability to operate equipment such as lawn tractor, snow blower, string trimmer, leaf blower,

and chainsaw.
- Your ability to physically perform duties assigned, such as heavy lifting and working outdoors in all

weather conditions.
- Your experience performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, fixtures, tools, and machinery.
- Your experience doing general installations, such as fixtures and building accessories.
- Your ability to work proficiently with outside contractors, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and

general contractors.
- Your knowledge of safety requirements and personal protective equipment
- Your passion for being a collaborative, positive team player.
- Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Your passion for what you do every day.

- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work well with others, or independently.
- Ability to use good judgement to solve problems and adapt as needed.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate and maintain professionalism in all aspects of work
