Aspen View Public Schools, with a division office located in the town of Athabasca, is a rural school division providing diverse and innovative programming to students in a number of communities.

Located in the picturesque town of Boyle, Alberta (approximately 30 minutes east of the town of Athabasca), Boyle School serves the communities of Boyle and the Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement with a population of approximately 250 students in a PreK-12 setting. The school is steeped in a rich history of academic achievement and athletic pursuits, and the region is surrounded by lakes, golf courses and opportunities for fishing, snowmobiling and camping. Community partnership is essential at Boyle School. Working with the school council to link with community support is an integral part of the assignment. The goal is always to strive for improvement in academics, while providing a well-rounded experience for students. It is important that the community identity is reflected in the school.

Aspen View Public Schools is recruiting an Assistant Principal for Boyle School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Working with the Principal, the Assistant Principal plays a key role in the leadership of the school to:
Ensure the creation or updating, monitoring, and evaluation of their school’s development plan in alignment with the Aspen View School Division Education Plan.

Ensure the conditions within which quality teaching and optimum learning can occur and be sustained.

Promote positive attitudes in students and staff toward self, others, school, education, and the school community.

Maintain order and discipline in the school, on the school grounds, and during activities sponsored by Aspen View School Division.

Provide support for staff and develop an effective learning climate.

Master’s Degree or enrolled in a graduate program in education

Successful teaching experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent planning and organizational skills

Committed to ongoing professional development

Experience using technology to facilitate learning

Committed to promoting inclusive classroom practices

Committed to collaborative decision making and being a team player

A background of involvement in community activities

Committed to Assessment for Learning and Collaborative Response

A strong commitment towards the School Division’s key priorities
