**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
The City of Maple Ridge's Police Services Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. **THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**

Completion of an office administration diploma or degree from a recognized educational institution or an equivalent combination of directly related education, training, and experience. A minimum of 3 - 5 years of diversified and progressively more responsible work in an administrative capacity within a similar environment.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Working knowledge of the RCMP Act, the Local Government Act, and RCMP and Municipal policies and procedures;
- Ability to function efficiently with limited direction, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers, municipal officials, and other employees, and to meet and successfully serve the public on a continuing basis.
- Ability to exhibit and maintain confidentiality and discretion of matters as required with regard to private information;
- Ability to meet challenges, handle pressure, and resolve problems while maintaining a positive and focused outlook;
- Advanced skills in people management practices for direct reports, capable of creating and sustaining a respectful and productive work environment that inspires teamwork, creativity, enthusiasm, and positive results. Ability to lead, mentor, and develop staff in a unionized environment;
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the general operation of standard audio-visual equipment;
- Exceptional time management skills;
- Considerable knowledge of the procedures, practices, and regulations involved in the operation of a municipal police department;
- Ability to oversee RCMP electronic and archived file management system;
- Adaptable and able to shift focus frequently, and;
- Demonstrate proficiency in the core competencies of:
