Supports participants who are embarking on the services offered through Transition to a Home of Our Own. People with intellectual disabilities participate in learning and building upon the skills they will need in order to successfully transition from their family home to supported independent living.

Under the direction of the Community Services Manager, the Overnight Aide will be responsible for ensuring that there is a 'safe and secure' presence in the Transition Apartment for individuals being supported through the night. Except in cases of an unplanned emergency, the Overnight Aide will be permitted to sleep when the people living in the home do not require their personal needs to be met.

Applicants selected for an interview MUST meet the following minimum criteria and be able to carry out the following responsibilities/duties:

- Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker certificate preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Initiative, maturity, good physical condition and willingness to work straight nights and weekends
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.41 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 8 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (preferred)

**Experience**:

- supportive care: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
