The Alberta Medical Association is recruiting for the temporary position of **Associate Insurance Advisor** with our ADIUM Insurance Services area. This position is currently temporary till December 31, 2024, with possibility of extension.

**Position Overview**

AMA’s ADIUM markets and administers a broad range of group insurance programs for our members and their families. Plans include disability, professional overhead expense, term life, critical illness, accidental death & dismemberment and extended health and dental insurance (AMA Health Benefits Trust Fund). ADIUM is an Associate General Agent under a national agency agreement and has access to several insurers for the placement of a range of individual insurance products when needed.

In this entry-level insurance sales role, the **Associate Insurance Advisor** will provide AMA members and their family members with personal insurance planning services and implementation of insurance solutions to meet their needs in an unbiased and low-pressure environment. The individual will work primarily with medical students, residents and early career physician members.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

- Deliver a unique and competitively superior insurance purchasing experience to members, both at time of sale and in post-sale servicing, working primarily with students, residents and early career physicians.
- Building successful working relationships with members, MD Financial Management consultants and other stakeholders (e.g., Professional Association of Resident Physicians of Alberta, insurance company staff).
- Create and deliver presentations to students, residents and other physician groups.
- Coordinate with Managing General Agency, insurers and ADIUM administrators for outstanding underwriting and new business requirements.
- General office duties, including but not limited to: photocopying, scanning, filing, mailing, correspondence, creating and updating files, and faxing

Education and Experience:

- Two year business administration diploma or related.
- A minimum of two years of related insurance or financial services industry experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Life and Accident & Sickness Licensing through Alberta Insurance Council (Life Licensing Qualification Program (LLQP)) is required.
- A working knowledge of both group and individual insurance products.

**How to apply**:
Initial salary for this role will be between $62,603 - $76,236 per annum.
