This position is responsible for inventory and equipment supply within the Central Fill Pharmacy, including inventory counts, ordering, adjustments, audits, variance investigations and reports set by the established policies and procedures.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Specific Responsibilities generally include but are not limited to the following:
Purchasing: Perform daily inventory requirements of Prescription (Rx), Over-the-Counter (OTC's) and other consumables.
Reports: Review applicable inventory reports daily.
Shortages: Investigate, resolve and document shortages.
Process inventory adjustments: Perform inventory adjustments and document as required.
Vendor overstock returns: Prepare, pick, process, and send overstock and expired product returns.
Recalls:
Verify inventory and remove affected recalled product from the product location. Send receipt acknowledgement of recalls as per the established recall procedure. Report compromised products to National Recall Coordinator.
ii. Responsible to ensure recall notices are posted at the inventory picking locations in the pharmacy and perform a sweep of the pharmacy on a quarterly or biannual basis to ensure no outdated recall notices remain at the shelf location.
Expiration dates: Manage expiration dates of products.
Discrepancies: Review inventory reconciliation and receiving discrepancies (ex. shortages, overages, and damages). Investigate discrepancies, ensure appropriate communication with the Distribution Center and document if necessary.
Physical Inventories: Prepare for, and perform physical inventories including monthly narcotic cycle counts as well as daily perpetual inventories.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and document/report investigation results.
Optimize Inventory; Manage minimum and maximum inventory order.
Storage: Ensure inventory is stored in an orderly manner. Manage and ensure cleanliness of stock and shelf locations
Records: Responsible to ensure that all records related to Inventory Control of products are accurate, retained and follow Good Documentation Practices.
Communication: Communicate with management to ensure that potentially compromised products are removed and placed in a secure quarantined area for assessment.
Policy and Procedures: Perform all tasks within the scope of all applicable Policies and Procedures (P&P) related with the Inventory Clerk role.
Other duties as directed by the Inventory Supervisor, or Pharmacy Managers.
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES**
General Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Ensure that company policies and procedures are respected, including health and safety policies.
Communicate with supervisors and Pharmacy Manager of any deviations that occur concerning established procedures and opportunities for improvements.
Ensure that work areas are kept safe, organized and clean.
Follow company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety policies
**MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED**
0-1 years of experience. May have vocational qualification.
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED**
Experience in inventory control preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Inventory/Materials Management experience preferred
Experience in a pharmacy and/or distribution center environment.
Strong focus on customer service and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Familiar with automation.
Good understanding of regulatory issues, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP
