Annual salary: $ 56,400.00 - 61,900.00

**What you'll do**
- Participates in the development and implementation of Community Relations related programs and projects by performing

assignments such as: gathering, summarizing and conducting preliminary research and analysis on public consultation and
communications related issues and projects; preparing reports; making recommendations and/or presentations based on
findings.
- Provides first point of contact at the regional office for members of the public and interest groups and participates in

providing answers, guidance, interpretations and information on a range of corporate and other BC Hydro sponsored public
consultation and other programs, by performing duties such as: answering queries directly or referring to another source for
response; seeking direction from Coordinator or Manager on activities, reactions and issues with high volatility and/or major
impact; and escalating issues to Coordinator and Manager accordingly. Documents and anlayzes public query and
response activity at the regional level and draws on analysis for input to the development of programs, projects and
initiatives.
- Administers regional donations program by receiving and assessing donation requests, advising requester of approval/

denial, maintaining donations financial records and database, producing reports and correspondence material, and
arranging associated presentation events and recognition. Reconciles monthly financial report.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of public information records, statistical summaries, reports, budgetary information,

correspondence files, etc. using a variety of mainframe and/or PC based software programs.
- Provides planning, logístical and similar support for meetings and events related to public consultation and

communications activities and programs; checks consulting and other invoices related to Community Relations activities/
projects and recommends for payment; prepares cost estimates for events/Community Relations activities.
- Prepares, formats and types correspondence, memos, reports, summaries, forms, presentations and other

communications materials using a personal computer and a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, and other software.
- Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job

**What you bring**
- Partial completion of a college certificate in Marketing/Communications/Public Relations or an equivalent combination of

experience, training and education.
- Two years of experience with demonstrated research, report writing and administrative support skills combined with a

working knowledge of public affairs protocols, procedures, methods and practices gained in an administrative assistant role
in a public affairs or corporate communications department.
- Well developed oral, interpersonal, presentation and especially written communication skills to produce a polished final

product. High level of demonstrated proficiency with the full range of PC based desktop programs.
