**Selig Group, **the leading manufacturer of lining materials for tamper-evident cap/closures in North America is growing and seeking an experienced **Purchasing Clerk.**

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Purchasing Clerk to join our team. As a Purchasing Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the procurement and inventory of supplies, ensuring that our organization has the necessary resources to operate efficiently. This is a vital role within our supply chain management process.

**Responsibilities**:

- Procure supplies and materials needed for daily operations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track stock levels
- Utilize systems such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to monitor supply levels and initiate purchase orders
- Source and evaluate potential vendors, negotiate prices, and establish favorable terms
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand supply needs and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or issues with inventory
- Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage vendor performance
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities

**Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management principles
- Proficient in using MRP systems or similar software for inventory management
- Excell
- Procure supplies and materials needed for daily operations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and track stock levels
- Utilize systems such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to monitor supply levels and initiate purchase orders
- Source and evaluate potential vendors, negotiate prices, and establish favorable terms
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand supply needs and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies or issues with inventory
- Assist in the development and implementation of supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Maintain vendor relationships and manage vendor performance
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- well developed communication skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Problem-solving skills to address any issues or discrepancies with inventory
- Grade 12 or equivalent required
- Some college level courses or purchasing experience an asset.
