**Job Overview**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager the Production Planner is responsible for coordinating, developing, and maintaining production schedules for customer orders on a daily basis to meet customer demand and shipment timelines. This role manages the day-to-day production workflows, reviews inventory stock levels of raw materials and utilizes equipment matrixes to ensure efficient production of customer orders.

**Responsibilities**
- Plan production tasks and schedules according to equipment matrix, raw material specification, inventory on-hand, customer order details and shipping times.
- Collaborate with Production, HR, Maintenance, Purchasing, Receiving, Shipping and Supply Chain in coordinating and planning the flow of production activities through the complete production cycle.
- Complete daily walks of production work areas to ensure correct materials are staged at each area as per the schedule, and any last-minute changes are incorporated
- Monitor the execution of the production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion, escalating complex issues to the Manager for resolution.
- Investigate production problems, analyze root causes, and provide solutions.
- Analyze current orders and upcoming orders to prioritize, plan, and schedule the production operations.
- Plan equipment, material, and manpower requirements to execute manufacturing orders.
- Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule to meet deadlines.
- Drive stability in an ERP system with Demand and Inventory Planning.
- Manage the day-to-day workflow and trafficking for all phases of each order and ensure open communication with all departments so that deadlines are maintained
- Manages and processes all documents related to inventory control and production ensuring all productions orders are closed off daily and production dockets are placed at the right equipment, at the right time
- Achieves both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates by utilizing plant production lead times and historical performance data to create schedules,
- Collaborate with production and other material personnel to ensure streamlined operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to better understand business goals and revise schedules as needed.
- Be a critical point-of-contact for Sales communications in aspects of capacity constraints and opportunities.

**Qualification**
- Post-secondary degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Project Management, or a combination of experience and education
- Two (2) or more years of related experience in production planning, purchasing, capacity planning, and machine scheduling with a strategic view is required
- Three (3) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment is a must
- Certified in Product and Inventory Management (CPIM) and experience in batch and consumer packaged goods considered an asset
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills to assist in working in a fast paced and evolving work environment
- Demonstrated organizational, planning, and analytical skills with a high sense of urgency and ability to multitask is required
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present information to internal stakeholders at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills including, collaboration, conflict resolution and cross functional engagement
- Experience with D365 software program is a definite asset
- Ability to think strategically with a perspective of business requirement beyond inputting item
