The Island Crisis Care Society is looking for their next **Manager of People & Culture**

This is an in-office role in Nanaimo, BC.

- Key Responsibilities_
- Take ownership of day-to-day HR operations in the following areas:

- recruitment,
- training and development,
- human resources information system (HRIS)
- attendance & disability management,
- performance management & discipline
- labour relations in accordance with ICCS policies and procedures and external standards
- collaboration with pay & benefits specialists
- Develop human resources policies and programs in collaboration with the Director of Policy, Research & Projects.
- Oversee the entire life cycle of employee leaves of absence, including reviewing gradual return-to-work plans and accommodation requests.
- Collaborate with the Executive and senior leadership team, planning ICCS’s long-term and day-to-day human resources operations and administration.
- Provide an HR perspective on ICCS’s operational plans and priorities, advising the Executive and leadership teams on emergent legislative/compliance issues.
- Hire and supervise HR staff, providing mentorship, assigning & reviewing work.
- Consult with the Executive team, establishing and implementing management and human resources policies.
- Participate in union negotiations, collective bargaining, and/or Labour Management Committee.
- Foster positive relationships with senior and other government officials, funding sources, clients, the community, etc.
- We’re Looking For _
- Experience in a Human Resources Generalist role, or a combination of relevant professional and educational experience.
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, or equivalent professional designation, is an asset.
- Familiarity with Canadian Labour Relations would be an asset.
- Ability to use & train colleagues on ADP, or similar complex HRIS.
- Organizational skills, and the ability to manage role responsibilities while maintaining healthy work-life-balance, and encouraging it in those around you.
- Ability to understand and contribute to the therapeutic culture of ICCS within their own position and team.
