Part Time Prep Cook - Shadow Lake Lodge

The Prep Cook is responsible for assisting and facilitate the Chefs duties in executing high-quality meals, - infusing fresh ingredients with an imaginative menu. If you love to be in the outdoors, have a prowess for baking, and excel in remote kitchen settings with stunning natural backdrops, this opportunity may be for you.

This is a seasonal job opportunity. The SLL summer contract runs from June 12th through October 5th. Daily rate of pay is based on **an 12-hour day**, worked as a split shift.

Shadow Lake Lodge is the ACC’s only full-serviced backcountry accommodation. Shadow Lake Lodge, located in the backcountry of Banff National Park, is an excellent base for cross country skiing, snowshoeing and winter exploration. Comfortable lodging in private cabins and hearty, healthy, gourmet meals, along with the hospitality of the ACC create a memorable experience for each and every guest. **Responsibilities**
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen health and safety requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of safe and efficient food storage guidelines.
- Ability to use kitchen utensils safely (proficient knife skills).
- Ability to take direction and work as a team player.
- Knowledge of some specific cooking/baking processes.
- Follow Food Safety, OHS, WHMIS best-practices, and SLL COVID-19 procedures.
- Assist the Chef on duties with preparation of ingredients to facilitate the execution of the services.
- Following recipes to assist and or execute on the preparation of fresh baked goods.
- Keeping the kitchen and other workstation clean and organized.

**Key Relationships**
- Reports to the Chef and Lodge Manager regarding food quantity control and guest dietaries/numbers. Assisting the Lead Chef on duty.
- Works closely with the service team to ensure smooth, quality food service for guests.
- Reports to the Chef and Lodge Manager for support on responsibilities and guest experience.

**Remuneration and Accommodation**
- While on location staffing accommodation will be provided.
- Staff food will be provided.
- **Daily wage rates up to $220** for 12hr workday rotation (Schedule shift 5 days on 10 days off). Departure day is considered a half work-day

This job is in a remote area of the Banff National Park. Accommodation is provided **only **on shift. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge for work shifts (bike, hike, or run).
