**Job Summary**:
As a Machinist at Fleet Canada Inc., you will handle machine setups, tool calibration, and CNC programming, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Set up and operate a variety of production machines, ensuring all tools and materials are properly prepared.
- Program CNC lathes to meet specific production requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to ensure accurate dimensions for parts.
- Measure and calibrate tools and instruments for precision machining.
- Perform tool-proving operations and verify parts against specifications.
- Calculate feed, speed, and angles for machining processes.
- Ensure proper shop aids are quality approved and available.
- Monitor machine gauges and adjust settings as needed.
- Maintain an organized workflow, ensuring parts are moved through production stages on time.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in machining or a related field; machinist training or apprenticeship is an asset.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Experience with CNC lathe programming and machine setup.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate feed, speed, and angles.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and meet production deadlines.
- Familiarity with WHMIS and Health & Safety standards is preferred.
- **Technical Expertise**: Strong background in mechanical systems and CNC programming, with the ability to troubleshoot and adjust machines as needed.
- **Precision and Detail-Oriented**: Able to maintain high accuracy in machine operations, ensuring that all parts conform to exact specifications.
- **Independent Worker**: Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks without direct supervision, following established procedures and methods.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**: Able to identify issues and develop solutions during the machining process to prevent equipment damage or production delays.
- **Safety-Conscious**: Dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety standards, while actively participating in safety training and procedures
