Human Resources Co-op Student

As a member of the HR team, the HR Co-op Student will be responsible for providing a broad range of human resources and administrative support to the department. The successful student will be given the opportunity to cultivate their skills and knowledge by working closely with experienced colleagues who will provide feedback during the work term. This will be an 8-month work term starting September 2024 based in the Edmonton office.
**Responsibilities**:
- Participate in providing general HR advisory support to employees such as researching and responding to employee inquiries- Maintain and update HR documentation, databases and files- Provide input and recommendations for changes to HR procedures and practices- Provide support for the administration of employee compensation and benefits programs- Assist with executing HR transactions and processes in Workday- Lead/support HR projects and continuous improvement of HR processes- Assist with generating data, reports and HR analytics to support delivery of the business plan- Provide support on the recruitment process- Support the delivery and execution of the annual HR Priorities
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Excellent interpersonal skills- Maintain confidentiality- Precise, timely, and professional communication with personnel in various departments- Strong organizational and project planning skills with capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment- Active listening skills with the ability to think strategically
Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary Co-op program in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or other related field in a recognized institution- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access/Outlook)- Experience with HCM software (Workday) is an asset
