Youth Program Coordinator

**Required Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Exceptional people skills
- Previous experience in working with youth ages 12-18
- Strong computer skills
- Program planning and delivery skills
- Ability to work daytime and a minimum of 4 evenings a month
- Ability to make a 1-year commitment
**Primary Programming Responsibilities**
**The Teen Program Coordinator shall**:
- demonstrate a proactive, appropriate and positive approach to behaviour management issues and conflict resolution situations.
- ensure that volunteers/staff are confirmed for their weekly shifts.
- locate replacements and/or fill in for absent volunteers/staff, as required.
- plan specific activities on programming days, as required, and ensure that activities are operating smoothly. Program planning time should reflect 0.5:1 ratio (i.e. one half hour of planning to one hour of programming).
- ensure a wide variety of teen programs are offered on weekly basis.
- create an environment that encourages a quality experience for youth, staff and volunteers.
- report all concerns and/or issues regarding clientele to supervisors.
- ensure that the program facilities are clean, organized and safe (i.e. recycling, maintenance of equipment, biannual cleaning, weekly checklists, etc.).
- order supplies and stock the canteen on a weekly basis.
- promote the programs of the Ponoka Youth Centre to both new, as well as existing, clientele through a proactive and positive approach.
- create marketing materials and recruit youth through a variety of methods to encourage ongoing growth and attendance.
- promote teen programs in the local schools on a weekly basis.
- actively engage adult community members and/or volunteers in the facilitation of the program.
- recruit, screen and orient volunteers for teen programs.
- be familiar with and deliver programs according to the policies and procedures of the agency.
**Salary**: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
