The Attendance Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of consistent attendance support practices across LHSC with the strategy of improving staff attendance and reducing organizational sick time costs. This position is the primary contact for leaders, providing education, advice and coaching in regards to the consistent management of staff attendance issues hospital wide. This role will update managers regularly to debrief cases, identify trends, report on progress and identify obstacles.

The incumbent will also dialogue with union representatives and contact external organizations to benchmark, access, modify and implement required changes to LHSC’s Attendance Improvement and Support Services.

- Rate of Pay: $34.71 per hour - $43.40 per hour

**Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree or 3 year College Diploma with Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent combination of education and experience as acceptable to Hospital
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
- Minimum two (2) years related, related job experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective presentation skills, proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills, along with a strong work ethic
- Demonstrated ability in analyzing data and providing guidance and support to management and senior leadership in regards to attendance and ability management
- Knowledge of attendance management programs, practice and related issues
- Experience working in a multi-unionized environment an asset
- Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office, People Soft, Workbrain.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, e.g. Human Rights Code of Ontario, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act. Knowledge of jurisprudence
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step) and COVID vaccine series.
