The Lead Hand oversees on-site activities and effectively manages resources in the absences of the Field Supervisor execution of a variety of different construction projects that include concrete restoration, corrosion-related work, and chemical protection of structures. This position works closely with the Field Supervisor is a personable leader who is committed to self-development and achieving Vector's overall goals and objectives. Specifically, this position is responsible for (but not limited to):

- Help managing and performing on-site construction activities when the Field Supervisor is away from the job site.
- Participate in and promote a safety-first culture
- Communicating and managing the health and safety program on construction sites.
- Managing field resources, labor, and related material.
- Ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded at all phases of the project
- Must be open to doing a variety of work in addition to carpentry including labourer work.

**Requirements**:

- 2-5+ years' field leadership experience with demonstrated ability to mentor co-workers
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Carpenter. Having concrete experience are considered assets.
- Ability to read drawings
- Applicants should have a driver's license, reliable transportation and must be able to pass a drug test (marijuana will not be tested for)
- The ability to supervise team members in ways that enable them to grow and succeed through effective feedback, instruction, and encouragement.
- Strong organizational skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally.
- The ability to manage one's own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals.
- Ability to use jackhammers and heavy concrete demolition
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
