**Job Title: Labour Market Facilitator Ready, Willing and Able Project**

**Term**:Full-time _(some evenings and occasional weekends) 40 hrs/wk _Flexible schedule is required.

**Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) **is a national partnership of the Canadian Association for Community Living (CACL), the Autism Alliance of Canada (formerly Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorder Alliance (CASDA), and their member organizations. Funded by the Government of Canada and active in 20 communities across the country, RWA is designed to increase the labour force participation of people with an intellectual disability and people on the Autism Spectrum.

**What you will be doing **
- The LMF is responsible and accountable for the successful delivery of the Ready, Willing and Able (RWA) national initiative.
- The LMF will seek to generate business demand by connecting with businesses across various sectors and industries to promote the value of inclusive hiring.
- From there, the LMF shares this demand with organizations and employment agencies supporting job seekers with an intellectual disability and/or autism spectrum disorder with the goal of setting job seekers up for success in the workplace.
- The LMF will contribute to Autism Nova Scotia’s broader mandate to create inclusive spaces, with a focus on businesses and employment.

**General Duties**:

- Conduct outreach to businesses and agencies, across various sectors and industries, to promote the value of inclusive hiring at both the provincial and community level
- Follow up with businesses and employer organizations
- Expand recruitment and hiring of autistic people/people on the autism spectrum
- Deliver presentations to employers to promote the employment of autistic people/people on the autism spectrum
- Provide current and accurate information on Autism in the workplace
- Engage in project management, administration, budget, and expenditure monitoring activities, as required, and as related to project implementation
- Attend RWA Team meetings to liaise with co-workers across various RWA national sites
- Meet all reporting and documentation requirements set by Autism NS and national RWA, including, but not limited to completion of quarterly reporting
- Other duties as required and/or assigned

**Education and Experience**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of Neurodiversity is required
- Previous experience working with Autistic people / people on the autism spectrum in community, residential or school settings is recommended, but not required
- Post-Secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field
- Must have access to a reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid Certification (considered an asset)
- Current Non Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (considered an asset)
- Current ASIST Certification (considered an asset)
- A valid criminal record check and child abuse registry check are required for this position

- Commitment to full inclusion for people with an intellectual disability or autism spectrum disorder, including the right to employment and economic participation in the community;
- Demonstrated knowledge of issues and barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorder in accessing the labour market;
- Strong knowledge of labour market issues and trends
