SEM is a Newfoundland and Labrador-based multi-disciplinary consulting firm that has proudly served many clients in the mining and utility industries, all levels of government, and a diversity of others over the past 20 years. SEM offers Environmental, GIS / Remote Sensing services, Provision of Professional Resources, and Multimedia (video + VR and training) services.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Technical writing and report preparation for a broad spectrum of topics including, but not limited to, species at risk, avifauna, rare plants, wetlands, air quality, etc.
- Environmental data entry, preparation of report figures, and analysis of trends, such as for biological field data, environmental compliance monitoring, or water quality;
- Taking part in and/or leading field programs on environmental related projects;
- Preparation of technical cost proposals, schedules, project updates, meeting minutes and reports;
- Planning and tracking progress on project and administrative related tasks.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Biology, Chemistry, or related field(s) is required;
- Writing experience is a must and a writing sample will be required if selected for an interview;
- Strong computer skills, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required;
- Willingness to work in the field in challenging conditions;
- Willingness to work overtime as required including weekends; and
- Valid driver’s license.

**Other**:

- Experience working in the environmental sector or in a leadership role is an asset but not a requirement;
- GIS experience and knowledge is considered an asset;
- Experience with statistics/statistical analysis is considered an asset;
- Willingness to work in a team environment as well as independently;
- A keen learner with organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Positive attitude with strong communication skills;
- Experience operating ATVs, snowmobiles and boats;
- Physical activities including hiking over rough terrain and or snow shoeing; and
- Willingness to travel for extended periods to fulfill fieldwork responsibilities.
