If so, your next career opportunity awaits you Our Ontario business is looking for a Senior Terrestrial Ecologist to join our growing Canadian Team. Our flexible work environment allows you to work from our Whitby, Mississauga, Toronto, Markham, St. Catherines and Waterloo office.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Provide technical expertise, with a strong field background, in more than one of: avian, botanic, wildlife, bats, natural heritage, ecological land classification, wetland or arborist surveys Build positive relationships with internal clients, existing GHD clients along with the development of new clients Provide mentorship while encouraging an upbeat and collaborative environment Lead the development of scope including field work-plans, reporting as well as permitting, authorizations, and approvals (MECP, Conservation Authorities, SARA, , and author reports Manage the development of proposals, including field programs and budgets Provide technical input on the natural environment components of Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Studies, and Natural Heritage Studies while coordinating technical resources and personnel Provide data interpretation in the context of environmental regulations, preparation or review of environmental reports, and regulatory submissions Occasional travel to sites, primarily in Ontario Lead field investigations as required

What you will bring to the team:

Minimum of 10 years of proven consulting experience weighted towards vegetation, wetland, and terrestrial ecosystems Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or equivalent education Graduate degree is considered an asset Outstanding communication and technical writing ability with experience managing teams Ontario-based certifications or training (. Ecological Land Classification, Butternut Health Assessment, Ontario Wetland Evaluation System, preferred Demonstrated field experience with application of natural environment consulting Provincial or Federal Environmental Assessment and Impact Assessments in at least one of these fields: transportation, land development, waste management or mining Proven project and client management skills including building budgets and effectively managing projects Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset Proficient with Microsoft Office suite A valid driver's license along with a clean driver's abstract
