Financial Analyst

As a member of the Corporate Finance team, the Financial Analyst will report to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis and will be responsible for the continuous improvement of processes, reporting and budgeting requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focusing on improvement of on-going monthly reporting requirements such as capital reporting, sales reporting and other projects through automation, standardization and simplification- Assisting the FP&A group with consolidation of actual reporting and on-going forecasts and budgets- Assist with improvement of sales reporting in Cognos Business Intelligence Module Implementation- Assist in 5-year strategy plan process with creation of dynamic excel templates and PowerPoint templates to be used by various stakeholders- Assist with creation of monthly operational presentation for Senior Leadership Team by using TM1 and with explanation of variances to budget and prior year- Support on-going government funding initiatives by gathering necessary data from Canadian plants- Collaborating with plant controllers and other stakeholders including IT to maintain the product master within the ERP system- Provide support to various roles within the corporate finance area and various other tasks as required- Become main point of contact for Johnson Electric’s FP&A team in Hong Kong, exceeding their expectations in terms of timeliness and accuracy of reporting. Address any ad-hoc requests for information.- Actively participate in the annual budget process and forecast process, and eventually lead the annual budget process and forecast process at Stackpole by coordinating with Johnson Electric and then leading the processes within Stackpole.- Work closely with global plant controllers to understand monthly results and gather data to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements- Work closely with Finance Manager and Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to assist where necessary- Improvement projects as required
Qualifications, Education And / or Experience:
- 2-4 years post undergraduate experience with CPA designation or plans to pursue a CPA designation- Demonstrated analytical skills including preparation of models using Excel and Access- Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with all levels in the organization from the front line to senior level- Detailed - oriented individual that understands importance of accuracy and completeness- A self-starter with a proven track record of building personal work plans that keep priorities on schedule- Ability to deal with large amounts of data and convert into meaningful information- Someone with natural aptitude towards detail- Demonstrated high level of competence with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint- Experience with Cognos suite tools is considered an asset- Degree of supervision: Self-starter, someone who takes initiative and is able to work effectively with mínimal supervision- Passionate about learning the business and the industry and delivering high quality and accurate results
