Overview

Reporting to the Early Years Supervisor, the Inclusion Coordinator will facilitate the development of planning goals, strategies and activities to assist with the integration of children with special needs in a licensed child care setting. The Inclusion Coordinator will also be responsible for building capacity amongst the EarlyON Child and Family Centres.

**Responsibilities**:

- Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew.
- Communicates with families and the licensed child care staff to facilitate the development of planning goals, strategies and activities that promote integration of children in licensed child care programs.
- Provides resource support to the child care programs regarding behaviour management strategies through observations, discussions, recommendations and modeling techniques; identifies and regularly reviews the behavioural needs of children on caseload; collects and analyzes data based on observations; develops and supports the implementation of a behavioural program; offers strategies based on analysis; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; provides revisions as required.
- Builds licensed child care and the Ontario Early Years Child and Family Centre capacity through workshops, individual training or group training as related to program quality, child development, special needs or other Ministry regulations/initiatives. Identifies, develops, provides and evaluates training (e.g. presentations, in-services, workshops) based on the needs of the child care staff regarding the individual classroom or agency needs.
- Develops, creates and edits communication systems to support communication development for children using visual aids, and facilitates the effectiveness within the child care program.
- Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.

**Qualifications**:

- Previousexperience working with children with special needs.
- Registered Early Childhood Educator.
- Proficiency in French language preferred.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent time management skills, organizational, group presentation and facilitation skills.
- Knowledge of computer skills compatible with what is current in the industry.
- A current driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Bilingualism (English/French), an asset.

Pay: $32.03-$36.05 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
