**What you’ll do**
It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

- This position is responsible for managing the development, implementation and execution of TJX Canada’s annual fiscal compensation plans and providing ongoing business support for a designated portfolio of business groups to support the enterprise’s strategic objectives of attracting, motivating and retaining talent.
- Develops, implements and maintains compensation programs including job evaluation, salary administration, merit, incentive plans, pay equity and car allowance for a designated portfolio of business groups to meet objectives with regards to internal equity, external market competitiveness and cost effectiveness, as well as ensuring legislative compliance. Provides ongoing counsel to Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and People Leaders for a designated portfolio of business groups on the development and implementation of compensation solutions to support business needs and consistent with the organization's overall Total Rewards strategy.
- Conducts in-depth market analyses to provide insights and formulate recommendations to inform total rewards strategy and stakeholder decisions and support the annual salary budget planning process.
- Develops techniques for compiling, preparing, and presenting data by which total rewards practices can be analyzed and meaningful comparisons made.
- Stays current with compensation related best practices participating in external roundtable groups with retail industry leaders and leverages internal and external research to identify and present trends, opportunities and solutions
- Identifies, assesses, and streamlines compensation processes and tools to drive efficiencies and build consistency in engagement with HR partners and the business.
- Engage with Global Total Rewards partners on various global programs in varying areas of specialty.

**What you’ll need**
To begin your career with us, we require the following:

- Post-Secondary Degree in a related field and working towards or completed a Compensation Designation (CCP).
- Minimum five (5) years of work experience within the areas of Compensation and Total Rewards in a Senior Professional or management capacity role.
- Proficient understanding of related compensation programs, processes, and procedures, preferably in a large national enterprise and/or multi-national business environment.
- Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills to provide solutions; ability to leverage prior experience and adapt quickly to the changing work environment to provide effective and timely compensation recommendations and financial costing.
- Strong collaboration skills including negotiation, interviewing, information gathering and active listening skills; ability to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills, including the ability to respond to several different issues at once, at varying levels of complexity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence business partners, to help prioritize activities and resources to meet business needs, build rapport and credibility to be a trusted advisor
- Strong computer skills including MS Excel (with the focus on building cost models and reports), MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Adobe.
