About the Role
Reporting to the Controller, the payroll technician will be a key contributor to the accounting department with the objective of delivering a high level of accuracy, integrity, and timeliness reporting with a focus on supporting the payroll and other accounting processes.

**What you’ll do here**:

- Validate that all employees have submitted their timesheet and that supervisors have approved all timesheets for their employees.
- Conduct follow-up with employees and supervisors for missing time sheets that have either not been approved or that have been approved in error.
- Perform the weekly import of the timesheet into the financial system (Microsoft Great Plains);
- Follow up with staff for missing project codes or activities codes.
- Assist the Payroll Supervisor in the production and the processing of pays Quebec and US employees on a bi-weekly basis.
- Collect, verify, and process the information submitted by the human resources department (new hires, departures, status changes, etc.).
- Journal entries, account reconciliation for general ledger.
- Prepare the records of employment.
- Prepare various governmental deductions at source (deductions, garnishments, alimony payments.); Responsible of the maintenance of the time banks in the Timesheets system (vacation, sick days, etc); Calculate the taxable benefits.
- Assist in the production and validation of the T4 / T4A / RL 1/T2200/TP64.3.
- Assist in the production of annual reports required by governmental authorities (salaries, CSST, WSIB, WCB, Loi 90, etc.).

**What you’ll need to succeed**:

- DEC or AEC in administration or other relevant training;
- 2 to 3 years’ experience as a Payroll Technician;
- Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written;
- Experience working with Workday and/or Dayforce;
- Excel intermediate level;
- Canadian Payroll Association certification; PCP/SCP (an asset).
- Knowledge of Dynamics Great Plains (an asset).
- Great organizational skills and ability to do follow-ups.
- Honesty, discretion, and responsibility.
- Ability to deal with people in a courteous and professional manner.
- Good prioritization skills, ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent customer service and collaboration skills.
