Gallery Assistant

Peggy's Cove Glass, the Halifax area's only glass blowing studio and gallery, is looking to add a Gallery Associate to our team.

Gallery Associates are the public face of our brand and an important part of our customer experience. They should be dedicated to providing a high-quality experience for customers by greeting them on arrival, assisting them with purchases, returns, refunds, and educating them in how our products are made.

The main duties of a Gallery Associate are:

- Greet visitors in a welcoming manner
- Explain the glassmaking process to visitors
- Attend to customer inquiries and provide product information
- Assist customers with purchase and gift decisions
- Facilitate sales transactions
- Package product for customers
- Monitor inventory and restock shelves
- Perform daily cleaning duties in the gallery
- Previous experience with selling and customer service practices
- Friendly and approachable
- Organized and energetic
- Have a desire to provide an outstanding customer experience
- Have an appreciation for handmade art
- Proficient in reading and writing
- Effective communicator
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Able to move and stand for several consecutive hours at a time
- High attention to detail
- Basic math proficiency
- Able to work both in a team or individually
- English is required, French is an asset
- Able to maintain a professional, tidy appearance
- Able to work in a warm, sometimes noisy, environment
- Available for either part or full time hours
- Available to work weekdays, weekends and/or holidays

We are located in Seabright, so your own transportation is required.

Part-time hours: 16-40 per week

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
