**Scale - Transfer Station Attendant**:
**Starting wage**: $22 per hour
Our mission is to divert as much material from the landfill as possible - we get dirty, so the environment doesn’t have to.

**Your roles and responsibilities include**:

- Welcome customers and direct them to the proper waste drop-off area in the Transfer Station
- Educate customers on current recycling and waste management practices.
- Operating the scale computer system
- Handling cash and electronic payments
- Conduct visual inspections of loads bring brough in and prevent disposal of prohibited and hazardous materials.
- Balancing at the end of the day and assisting in clerical and/or general yard cleanup-type duties
- Ensure materials are in correct disposal areas, and sort material when required.
- An ability to divert or remove recyclable items from customer waste drop-off loads.
- Follow recycling stewardship rules and regulations on accepted material.
- Enforce proper traffic safety rules and guide customers when necessary.
- An ability to multi-task and work under pressure is not only a requirement but a necessity.
- Be physically fit and the ability to lift up to 15kg.
- Be able to work independently and as a team.
- Experience or willingness to operate a Bobcat Skid Steer
- Ability to follow site-specific policies and procedures (such as Skid Steer pre-trip procedures, bin loading procedures, etc.)

This is a permanent full-time position based on 4x 10-hour shifts, as such you will be required to work two days as the Scale Attendant and the other two assisting in Transfer Station. Your schedule is to be determined with the potential for Saturday shifts.

Any experience in the recycling, waste management, and composting industries is considered an asset.
