**About the Role**

The IT Manager will play a critical and highly visible role in the development and launch of VIFC. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is ambitious, self-motivated, driven, and looking to deliver high-value work within a small, and agile team. Reporting directly to the EVP of Technology & Digital, the IT Manager will have daily involvement with, and support ship and business operations, human resources, marketing, technology, and network/facility infrastructure to help drive and support the start of our new service. Attention to detail, refined problem-solving skills, organization, and planning is deemed critical for this role. Unique to this role, the IT Manager will have the opportunity to drive special projects from a technology and infrastructure perspective for the initial setup and opening of our new office, new port locations, and will be required to support the scaling of the VIFC team in Nanaimo, BC.

**Responsibilities**
- Own and drive various cross functional IT projects at multiple locations
- Develop and maintain group policies, local network best practices, and minimize security vulnerabilities
- Establish, monitor, maintain, and secure local networks and associated devices (e.g., end-user devices, network/telecom hardware, local servers, kiosks, peripherals, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs).
- Maintain inventory of all hardware, software, and infrastructure equipment.
- Support the software development teams, and the basic software development lifecycle when needed
- Analyze and interpret internal server and activity logs, and maintain local SharePoint sites as procedures/documentation change
- Participate in budget planning, and monitoring of IT needs/purchases

**What We’re Looking For**
- University degree (or College diploma) in Computer Science, System/Network Administration, Engineering, Cyber Security, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience; Ideally, a pattern of success in network or system administration roles(s)
- Hands on experience administrating Microsoft 365 environments
- Highly proficient with time management, organizational tools, and project management
- Ability to handle complex tasks in varied disciplines including hardware asset management
- Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
- Solutions focused mindset with a desire to learn, build, and improve
- A natural curiosity, humility, and passion for technology and hardware
- Process oriented and obsessive over details
- Excellent verbal and written communica
