Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Administration (Administrative Excellence Center) and in liaison with the Chair and relevant Program Directors in the Department of Global and Public Health (DPGH), the Student Affairs Officer develops action plans aligned with the strategic and operational directions of DGPH various educational programs within the unit, oversees admissions, program promotion, government reporting, scholarships and student records services. Plans and manages new initiatives by keeping abreast of best practices, new developments and trends in global and public health and the student affairs field.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides advice regarding admissions, government reporting, recruitment, scholarships and student records services related to educational programs, including administration of the Practicum requirements.- Develops and implements procedures and controls to enhance the operation of programs and provides administrative guidance. Establishes and develops links and partnerships with other areas of the University, as well as governmental and non-governmental offices.- Liaises with the Chair, senior leadership and Program committee to support the creation and launch of current and new courses and programs, in preparation for program accreditation and evaluation. Partners with faculty to identify clear student pathways for program selection and academic success.- Monitors the program’s progress, results, and provides recommendations to the Program Director on ways to improve the program’s quality for current and future students. Participates in the development, manages, and makes recommendations regarding the program’s budget and related allocation.- Plans and executes annual recruiting strategies: develops, reviews, and updates admission publications and ensures that admission and recruitment targets are met. Attends and organizes recruitment activities.- Participates in determining admissions eligibility with department faculty members and program leads for various categories of applicants from diverse educational backgrounds, considering multiple sources of information. Interfaces with interested parties to provide detailed information on the admissions process and decisions.- Develops and administers efficient processes and systems.- Plans and delivers information sessions for incoming and outgoing students. Develops and ensures long term follow-up with program graduates.- Works closely with Practicum Administrator in organizing, supervising, and verifying all recruitment efforts of practicum placements.-
- Conducts surveys on student affairs issues and presents workshops designed to assist students in their search for employment based on survey feedback.- Participates in the development of the program’s website, social media, and communications strategy.- Works on developing the establishments of agreements for exchange programs.- Provides training to unit staff on all student affairs related policies and practices for the program.- Oversees preparation of reports and year-end documentation including program and funding reports.- Monitors and manages contractual obligations with external vendors.- Administers the provision of information technologies and other infrastructure needs of the program.- Supervises the work of the management and clerical support staff.
