We work with individuals in the city of Red Deer and area, with our office located in Red Deer. Etana continues to grow with respect to the number of individuals supported and personnel and are adaptive with our services to meet the needs of each individual.

**Direct Support Worker - Complex Needs **is directly accountable to the Supervisor of Direct Supports Complex Needs to provide specialized support and assistance to individual person(s) who have a development disability, mental health diagnoses, addiction challenges and therefore complex support needs, such as permanent psychosis, schizophrenia, ADHD and high-risk behaviors. The individuals you will support are learning to receive support in how to cope and deal with barriers in their mental health. Your skills must include a proven ability to work with mental health concerns, self-harming behaviors, and high-risk tendencies. You will be required to remain calm in emotionally charged situations. Using a foundation of trauma-informed care, holistic approaches, and a positive attitude, you will use your highly developed behavioral intervention skills to provide intense support to implement intervention plans that will facilitate the optimal functioning of individuals with complex support needs.
- **One position every other Saturday and Sunday 7 am to 3 pm**:

- **Two Positions every other Saturday and Sunday 1 pm to 9 pm**:

- **One position every other Saturday and Sunday 3 pm to 11 pm**

**MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**
- One year experience working with complex needs individuals.
- Diploma/Degree in Disability Studies, Social Work, Human Services, Special Education or equivalent education and experience.
- Experience working with individuals with FASD, addictions, trauma and mental health issues.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
- Emergency First Aid /CPR certification or better.
- Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle

- Harm reduction
- Abuse Protocol / Protection of Persons in Care Act
- Food Safe
- Maintain skills in computing and communication technology as chosen and utilized by Etana
- Social Role Valorization
- Training in support approaches for individuals with FASD is an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $19.77-$24.17 per hour
