**_ Workplace Environment:_**

Reporting to the Senior Manager Accounts Receivable, Collections & Payment Processing, the Collections Supervisor is directly responsible for managing the day-to-day collections and credit departments located at Head Office and Moncton and is responsible for the collection results of our external collection agency. Primarily this role involves being proactive in preventing delinquent and bad debt receivables while maintaining current.

**Responsibilities**
- Manage overdue, delinquent accounts and facilitate the solicitation of payments from customers when due, suggesting payment options and negotiating payment plans as appropriate with supervisor DOA approval of payment plans up to $100k
- Responsible for making important financial decisions about business credit lines and effective actions to collect on past-due accounts when escalated to the supervisor from the collections team.
- Keep the risk of financial loss to Purolator at a minimum and be able to determine and or recommend the legal action to be taken regarding outstanding debt or if the debt should be referred to a third-party collection agency
- Responsible for departmental KPIs to ensure that the targets defined by the organization are achieved.
- Provide technical, advisory, and moral support to the department to ensure both positive customer and team member experiences.
- Directly supervises and coordinates the activities of consumer debt collectors to ensure the collection of accounts.
- Develops and implements correspondence prototypes and telephone techniques for effective collection of accounts.
- Trains new debt collectors in collection policies, procedures, and activities and interacts effectively with all levels of staff, customers, debtors, and vendors.
- Responsible for achieving department goals and objectives daily, weekly, and monthly including continuous reporting, tracking top critical and delinquent accounts and providing weekly collection actions to the Senior Manager, Director, and VP.
- Provides leadership for the team and provides coverage when needed.
- Coordinates new hire training and conducts ongoing training with staff to correct or improve performance trends.
- Conducts weekly audits on collectors ensuring that they adhere to policies and procedures while keeping in compliance.
- Responsible for the distribution of Reminder letters, Overdue notices
- Performs other miscellaneous duties as needed and as assigned** Qualifications**
- Completion of vocational and business courses commonly taught at the high school level
- Must have previous Collection experience and demonstrated Customer facing experience.
- Over 3 years and including 4 years (generally progressive experience)
- Must have a working knowledge of several functional areas within Purolator such as SAP Billing, Invoicing, Shipment Channels, Service Directory, Account Setups, Contracts, Reweigh, Pricing, EDI Invoicing, and Qlikview dashboards.
- Knowledge of AR processes and procedures and a good understanding of Purolator's T&C's, Delegation of authority, and billing rules for adherence/compliance to defending revenue billed.
- Intimate knowledge and experience in a variety of Purolator systems namely, SAP, CLI, OBPP, Mavro, Qlikview, BI, Invoice Display, Synergize, ESO, Info Hub Viewer, and Pin Lookup.
- Developed proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- An independent critical thinker, with the decision-making ability to lead a team of collectors in-house and satellite.
- Ability to multi-task and analyze complex aging situations with mínimal direction.
- Leadership supervision training with a focused development of soft skills (coaching, communication, and building relationships).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook with the ability to perform complex formulas in excel and create pivot tables and formulas.
